Steven Porterfield
Steven Porterfield graduated college with a a degree in Music Education, but has had a life-long interest in textiles and clothing.
His first business venture was in opening a vintage clothing store, The Cats Meow, in Midland, TX, in 1985. That store has since been expanded and developed into the large venture it is today, selling not only vintage clothing, but a wide variety of antiques, textiles, and jewelry. His clientele includes collectors, museums, the fashion and movie industries, industrialists and the general public.
Steven travels many weeks of the year buying and selling. He also works on museum installations and exhibits. One can see him on the PBS hit show, Antiques Roadshow, where he is an appraiser in the Rugs and Textiles area..
